• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Could not find a valid simobject

I'm sorry to post this here but I'm at my wit's end with this error. My project worked great until I suddenly started getting the below error. I've tried everything I can think of, including deleting and re-creating my entire project but I can't get rid of this error and my project won't build:

AssetBuilder | Could not find a valid simobject in 'C:\Users\Jim\OneDrive\AMPSim\MSFS Projects\C-130H\PackageSources\SimObjects\Airplanes\AMPSim-C130H'. Does it have one of [aircraft.cfg / sim.cfg / container.cfg] and does it reference the correct model folder(s)?

I'm using the AsoboStudio/glTF-Blender-IO-MSFS V1.3.1 from GitHub and Blender V3.3.0.

I'd greatly appreciate any comments or advice on this. Thanks,

AMP.

That kind of error is extremely frustrating,
Could happen when there is ANY error in one of the cfg, .XML, glTF , because the files are daisy chained the compiler just fails
They introduced this enforced check in su11 but the implementation is really wonky

The solution is unfortunately try and catch where the error is,
Starting with the simple aircraft wizard structure and keep adding your own files until you find the culript (ideally using the fspackagetool to speed up things and removing packageInt /packagemetadata and packages between each try)

A ticket @devsupport can help the team improve the error handling

Thanks for your reply Mamu, I appreciate it. I guess I'll start over again but it's pretty demoralizing when you already have hundreds of hours into a project.

Please show us a screenshot your addon list in Blender to see two gltf export programs - Khronos core and the MSFS ASOBO exporter.
Please show us a screenshot of your export settings in blender.

You must have an idea of what you did just before this issue started.

Thanks Ron for taking the time to reply. I finally figured out the problem and now have my project back to where it was. I had started using Git as a source control for my project and it seemed to work fine initially but, when all else failed, I deleted the repo and got all my files back to where they were before I started troubleshooting and now the project builds again without errors.

I'm still a little surprised that Git was apparently an issue. What do you guys use for source control?

Thanks again!

Glad you had a working backup

It would be interesting if you can detect maybe by file compare what was causing the issue!
