• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I would think this could be a handy feature added to ADE. Is this possible? Thanks

Like what happens when you hold down the "R" key while dragging a box around multiple elements?

It might be a ProKey feature. <added> it isn't a ProKey feature</added>

cheers,
Lane

Like Lane Says, isn't this the same as the rubber band feature in ADE?
there was talk of it opening with that orientation whatever angle the airport was, might be on Jon's list somewhere.................

That is the rubber band selector. Yes I have looked at making it oriented whatever the rotation of the display is but so far I have not been able to do it reliably :(

I suppose it would be possible to have some sort of helper rectangle that could be moved around and whatever was inside it could be highlighted but that is just another way of doing the rubber band selector I think

I was unaware of the *rubber band* feature. I tried to move 2 parking spots at one time. Held the R key down and pressed the left mouse button. Both items were highlighted but could not drag or move them together.
This is mainly what I would like to see. Is that Pro Key?

After they are highlighted, press <Shift> then drag with the left mouse button.

BTW. There is an excellent manual for ADE.

something would certainly be of great help here Jon as I and probably most others use the Rubber Band a great deal especially at a crowded major airport where we have masses of objects close together
where selecting a handful of objects is virtually impossible the way it is at the moment

George has answered the question. To move multiple selected objects you need to place the cursor over one of them, hold down the shift key and the left mouse button and drag

Of course you can also select multiple objects by holding the shift key down and left clicking those you want in the selection

Gentlemen, I have learned a lot today. I just thought how simple a *Highlight* or *Select* icon (example: Add Polygon Icon) would be compared to Crtl or Shift commands.
Really do appreciate all the time and help. Probably would still require shift key or something. Thanks

Well, I think in your example I just would hold the "Shift" while selecting the required elements. After including the last one it's just one movement with the mouse to the new place (while still holding the Shift). Your proposal would need as well a method to unselect. When forgetting this action you could mess up things you have placed before.
