• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Crash Effects ??

:wave:Does any one know if there is a mod out there that improves the crash effects.
Or does any one know were the code or file that controls the crash ending is located in FSX.

I would like a fire and smoke crash effect when one makes a mistake not just sticking planes nose in the ground.

I don't think you'll find one (I've casually looked). The FSX.exe is designed to stop almost all processing in the event of a crash (it will show the plane, what it hit, and some marginal crash effects like dirt being thrown by props, but quickly cut away from that scene).

I gather this was done at the insistence of the manufacturer partners (Cessna, Boeing, etc.) who don't necessarily want high fidelity flaming video of their airplanes to appear in in 6 O'Clock News reenactments (which would occur if FSX modelled these effects.)

Yes that is what I found out so far also I tried changing dirt and sparks effects in FSX to a fire ball only problem is big fire ball worked when plane hit the ground around airport textures and a few other spots only.
But big problem was when you landed on a dirt field or when off paved runway or caused sparks in normal landings you would have a fire ball blow up effect when you did not want it.
Effects will have to be conected with FS crash , and I have not been able to crack this so far if it is even posible I don't know.
