• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Creating a Flight

Hello,

I am not sure if I am in the right place, but here it goes.

I have a file containing the data from a real flight. I have the airplane atitude, thrust setting, flight controls positions, coordinates, altitude, etc.

Is it possible to reproduce this data on the MS Flight Simulator? How can I do that?

I have recorded a flight in MSFS and I have this FSR file. Is this file I have to edit with my real flight data?

Thank you very much.

No, an FSR flight is only a flight video (flight path) of a flight.

Do you want an AI aircraft to fly on the path you have stored on that real-life file? Or do you want to make a flightplan so you can refly this real flight? In that case you would have to create a flightplan, but you're limited to one certain altitude and to other parameters.
Unfortunately it's not possible to create some sort of 3D flightpath in FS.

Reproducing a flight

Thank you Thorsten.

Actually I have stored the real airplane information from a real flight.

I would like to use FS to reproduce this real flight, and see the behaviour of the airplane during this flight.

Thank you.

"See the behaviour" - so you just want to watch it, not actually fly it? Then it'd be best if you create a small mission with an AI aircraft. You can assign waypoints and target speed and altitude for each waypoint. Then you can follow with your own aircraft.
Of course you can also refly it, record it, and watch your own flight later.

But it is not possible to actually use the real airplane information stored in your file (whatever kind of file that is).

you're more likely to get a solution in Google Earth - here's what a flight can look like:

Depending on the format of your source data, you may be able to use gpsvisualizer.com to make the Google Earth KML file for you.

Here's a thread on flightsimulatorxmission.com where we've used the technique using logs *generated* from FSX soaring flight:
