• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Creating a new view

Hello all-

I did some searching but couldn't find what I was looking for. I am a FS2004 user stateside, but I am currently deployed with a bare bones laptop on which I don't have a FS installed. When I get back I will be making a FSX machine. To my question:

Is there any way to create a new view in FS2k4 or FSX? I'm talking about basically copying the Virtual Cockpit view and making changes to it. Like I said, I don't have the program in front of me, but it would be like "spot view, 2d cockpit, virtual cockpit, virtual cockpit #2, tower view" etc in the view menu.

I have some changes in mind to a virtual cockpit and want to have to option to work with a copy rather than the original.

I am also thinking about developing some effects to go with the new view, so that's why I'm asking in this forum- not sure if i'm in the right spot.

I also need to download/purchase some software that can edit views and whatnot. Any recommendations for a newbie?

Thanks for your help, hope my question makes sense.

No, there is not.

The VC view is part of the "physical model" and not something tacked on via a configuration file somewhere.
