• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 CYQR Regina

Frenchie, actually the grass model is about 8 mX 5 m, which is repeatedly overlapped and rotated when placed in the scenery to give variety and avoid the wall paper effect. I don't know what others do to replicate grass but I think my technique looks not bad in the sim. I use EZ-Scenery object placer for this kind of work. Maybe it is best to show you what I mean by the cross-hatching with a screen shot of the model in GMax and what it looks like in the sim from an unusually high perspective.

Indeed, the taxiway signs are original models and the "brushes" you mention is my representation of the anti-bird spikes on the top of the real world signs.

That's some beautiful grass Greg, particularly from the ground level views on the previous page. Nice work on everything, it looks amazing!

Woow... now it's really taking shape! I love it! Can't wait to fly up there with the Wilco CRJ pretty soon... Thanks for the Aerial Shot.

Some questions:
Would you include some cars into the scenery's parking as well?
Would you include in some animated cars on tarmac?

If yes, would that have impact on FPS Performance?
Have you allready been in contact with Oliver Pabst for adding Aerosoft AES to your Scenery?

Some questions:
Would you include some cars into the scenery's parking as well? This is planned
Would you include in some animated cars on tarmac? Not planned. I am playing with the idea of some animated traffic on the motorway that passes under the threshold of Runway 31

If yes, would that have impact on FPS Performance? Probably. The airport has a lot of detail so I need to be conscious of performance. Animated traffic is likely the last thing I consider and might end up being an option for those of you who have higher performance computers.
Have you allready been in contact with Oliver Pabst for adding Aerosoft AES to your Scenery? No. Although I have seen many, many references to AES, I don't use it so it has not been taken into consideration. I have no idea of what standards are necessary.

See above for responses to your questions

Good question! I'm working hard on the airport every opportunity I get but I still can't say how far out I am from being finished. Believe me, I'd like to be finished because I feel like I've become a slave to this project! Presently I'm building up a collection of parking lot and ramp vehicles. I've had an unfortunate set back with my grass detailing. Rather than explain the issue here link over to this thread http://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/distance-to-reference-point-question.432555/.

Sorry I can't be more definitive about a release date.

I have decided I am going to try to build an airport for fs9, well this is my third try to learn this skill. What tools do you use and what is your workflow like? I really want my airports to look like yours.

Hi Sean,
I think that depends on which Airport you are trying to built...
