• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 D328eco (PAUSED)

IIRC, the spoilers on my model were mostly guesstimations as well. I think they were introduced with the -120 version to improve STOL capabilities.

Feel free to use any assets (meshes, textures) from my model if you need them.

I long wanted to convert my model to X-Plane, but I just don't have the time anymore.
Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have MCX open with your model at the moment so I can get an idea as to some of the workings of the aircraft.

As for the spoilers, one thing I forgot to mention was that I brought in the spoilers in case the real D328eco* will have them, because the new plane is designed to operate on runways as little as 1km long.

*The prototype D328eco will be a modified original 328, a la how Fokker made their first F50 proto by modifying an F27.

If you need a test runway for performance verification, try MHG (EDFM). It's basically the airport for a 328.

Just starting some basic VC shaping now...
WARNING: Expect lots of artistic license because I have ONLY ONE picture of the 328eco's cockpit rendering, below this screenshot. Plus, the real plane is ALSO a work in progress.
I just wanted to get the basic cockpit stuff done with before I fiddle with gauges any further.

So far, this is the ONLY official rendering of the cockpit from DRA's website of the D328eco.

I'd model a regular 328 cockpit first and then do the required modifications to the avionics. I really doubt that the real thing will be that much different in terms of pedestal and overhead apart from the obvious secondary displays.

They also seem to have forgotten to define a new position for the gear handle.

I'm taking bits from the original 328 cockpit, such as the autopilot and overhead panels, and pedestal/centre console, until DRA releases more cockpit renders, so that it looks a little less empty; though I wonder how a single-pilot cockpit would fare on an aircraft [of] this size.

To be fair, I could have modeled the 328 one first, as DRA says that flight testing will start with a modified 328 anyway (details scant for now).
But, avionics aside, since the cockpit shapes are similar to me, I thought I'd have a go with the future cockpit layout anyway.

More cockpit news, not from me this time, but DRA itself...
They've confirmed that the D328eco will be equipped with the G5000.
Even thought the G5000 has SVS, this project of mine is FS9 first, so for now, SVS is out of the question.

But two things get me...
-First, there's STILL no landing gear lever, and second...
-I HAVE TO REWORK THE THROTTLE QUADRANT :banghead:

Anyways, as we speak, I'm making some slight refinements to the exterior model.
