• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Dash 8 Aircraft Project (Freeware)

Hello all, I am interested in providing the Flight Simulator community with a quality freeware Dash 8 simulation, along with a few other turboprop simulations (later). I am going to be starting off with the 'Baby Dash' (100/200 series), then on to the 300 series, and finally the 400 series.

What I have done so far is an FDE, and a sound pack (using the FS2004 Dreamwings Q100 model ported over to FSX as my test aircraft).
My goal with the FDE is to provide realistic beta range simulation, accurate HP rpm, LP rpm, ITT, and propeller rpm values, and smooth and realistic handling both in the air and on the ground.

What I would like to have is a modeler (the FS community needs a new native FSX Dash 8 model). VC and 3D interior is optional, if the model is FSX native then people can port over another VC into this one. If you do want to do a VC however, it would be nice! I THOUGHT I seen somewhere in this forum that somebody was working on a Dash 8 model, if you see this and you are still working on this plane, please PM me. I can be your guy for the sounds and the FDE!!

Next I would like someone with experience in doing XML panels and gauges. I would like a realistic turboprop aircraft operation, however I am not looking for something on the level of the Majestic Software Dash 8. I'd just like myself and other simmers to be able to flip a few switches before taking off, which is what I like to do. :D

Next would be a repainter, however we need not to worry about that until later.

And finally, some beta testers. Perhaps some real life pilots who have flown the real Dash 8 (or very similar twin turboprop aircraft such as the ATR or an Embraer E120, etc.) could test this.

And like I said, I have the FDE and sound effects taken care of.

So yeah once again I need a: modeler, panel and gauge programmer, repainters, and real life pilot beta testers.

Here's a couple of videos of my sound (which is my specialty): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DGdytXIFDzU
and: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_Q9nzQaMBo

Hopefully this evolves from a bright idea into a real add-on! :)

Oh, and Thank-you all in advance muchly for contributing to this project!

*Cringes*

Don't get your hopes up. Finding enough people to tackle something like this is nigh impossible.
Either you use the default or PAD's Dash 8* as a starting point or you start on the model yourself.
Otherwise I just don't see this happen in any way, especially considering that the Dash 8 project hasn't been updated in ages and can thus be considered dead.

*It's a portover, but it looks okay, has a VC and a panel.
