• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Day-Night gauges texture transition

Hello everybody!
I've tried to search something about my problem, but didn't found nothing specific, so i hope nobody will get angry with "has been discussed before" things.

For the VCockpit 3d model the night texture will appear slowly over the day texture, creating a blending effect over time.

The textures of the gauges that resides on the VCockpit do not act like this.
The night texture suddenly takes place. No transition.

Is there a way to make the night gauge texture come in blending?
Thanks a lot!

Edit: i was also thinking about the opposite. To make the vc body night texture to kick in with the gauges one without transition.
Maybe a setting in MCX material editor?

Most are back lit and come on all at once. Are you modeling instruments that are not back lit?

Hi gibson and thanks for your reply!
I am just trying to modify a default PFD gauge, working on the metallic frame around it. The instruments inside it are always lit, day and night, wich is ok.
I just would like that the frame texture do not change suddenly in night time.
Do you have any suggestion?
Thanks again!

Provided that you can get a good model export with all animations intact from MCX, change the emissive properties of the VC textures. I think the default is "blend" and will produce the fading effect you're observing. If you set the emissive properties to "blendusercontrolled", the VC textures will change with the position of the "panel light" switch.
