• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Decimal Separator Error

Jon,

This version is not supposed to fix the comma separator problem, isn't it? Because that problem is still there.

No I am looking at that today

I have found something - perhaps you could confirm this for me? I cannot replicate exactly what is in your xml file but I have done the following after changing my regional settings to German:

1) Imported AF2_EDTG-FS9.Bgl into SDE. This generates all the correct values using comma separators in the property grid and point separators in the xml. This compiles correctly and can be re-opened as a bgl file.

2) Opened the AF2_EDTG-fs9.Xml file created by SDE (which has all the correct separators) in SDE - here everything goes wrong and the point separators in the file are not treated correctly so the numbers are rubbish.

Therefore there is a bug and this is in the XML parsers not in the compiler/decompiler.

I still don't know how it is possible to generate some xml with comma separators.

If you can confirm this for me then I will work on a fix.

Thanks

Hi Jon,

Yes, exactly the same thing here. I have imported (as FS9 BGL) and exported (to FSX BGL) without any error message or strangeness from the beginning.

I only noticed this when trying to import the XML file - the reason why I wanted to to this I have forgotten, maybe just beta tester instincts :rotfl:

Cheers,
Martin

OK Martin Thanks

I am fixing it today - I can see what the problem is so I should have a new version for the weekend

Another Test!

Martin, Bert

The attached dll hopefully contains the fixes needed to read XML properly when your decimal separator is set as comma. Please be good enough to try this out for me. This should report itself as version 1.02.

No more error message and the values are looking perfect.

Very good, Jon. Thank you.

OK Thanks Martin.

I will release this one for online update.
