• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Delete oject placement tool buildings

I have an airport that I made with ADE before it was easy to add buildings. So to add buildings, I used the SDK Object Placement Tool. I now want to deleat some of these objects. These buildings do not show up in ADE so I can't delete them that way. Doesn't have anything to do with the scenery density setting. Do I need some kind of bgl. decompiler? Thanks.

Well they will be in a separate bgl file. ADE can't see or read that and can't remove them. If you want to remove those buildings now the simplest way would be to remove the Bgl file. Removal of third party objects via ADE is something we are looking at but, for now, if you want to get rid of some but not all you would need to create a separate exclusions file with a tool such as EXCBuilder for FSX

Hey Bob,

you can load this bgl-file into whisplacer, then you can delete, move etc. and recompile.

Thanks. Both good ideas. Whisplacer was the first tool I used when I tried to create airports for FSX. It was a little tricky to use and then stopped working altoghether(?). Then I moved on to FsXPlanner. I've settled on ADE, And would like to use as few tools as possible. As it is, I have built airports using four different design tools and two different flight plan tools. I really need to start over.
