Hi to all,
I'm a newbie to GMAX (and 3D Modelling at all!), so please apologise my stupid questions. I would like to split up a complicated skinned and textured mesh (mult-material textures) into different parts using GMAX detach functionality and delete the original mesh afterwards. Of course I would like to keep the textures on the parts the same as they were on the original object. Can anybody confirm that textures are kept in place for the detached objects automatically? And stay there even if I delete the original? If I open the Material Editor after detaching the objects still only textures for the original object are listed and I haven't figured out yet how to display textures at all. Are there any steps I miss? For example, do I have apply any UV modifiers on the parts? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Best regards
