• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Developer License

Good morning,

I understand the differentes between Academic and Professional, but how about Developer License?

SDK is free for everybody.

- Can I create a model (aircraft or scenery);
- Export using P3D v4 SDK;
- And distribute it (free or pay) as I want? (to be used in FSX, P3D versions etc...)

In this scenario, let's suppose that I do not have P3D and I don't intend to have it.

As I understood, this license allows you to TEST your models, and you can have 2 copies of Professional Edition.

So, imagine that I don't want to test it, can I distribute my models?

... actually, this is a good license! I can buy it during my development period (let's say, 2 months = $ 19.00)... when my model is finished, ok, I have it, don't need P3D anymore... spent only 19 dollars. Agree?

Other points, I would also use the SDK to compile to FSX.

Hi, Naruto-kun, thanks for your answer, but this big big text did not help me at all. I think some people has the answer for my questions, it is really hard to understand LM P3D licenses.

I am a ethic and correct person, that's why I am aiming to do the right thing.

You need to contact Lockheed-Martin for your answer.

Apologies. I should have handled that a bit more seriously. Meant to show that EULA discussions here tend to go off track and unethical behaviour can end up being encouraged often unwittingly. As Dick said, the answers to your questions you would need to get from Lockheed Martin as we are not lawyers and cannot accurately answer the legalise.

Here? How about everywhere? You'd think by now LM would have paid MS for an upgrade to their code license. LM is the biggest contactor to the US Federal government. I'm sure that they wouldn't miss the extra cash.
