• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Development Release and some questions

Hello Arno, hello everybody.
First of all thanks Arno for ModelConverterX, it is absolutely useful for a lot of things, i use it for skinning the most.

I would like to ask you if you think it will be possible to implement some features in future releases:
  1. The ability to move the CFGpoints read from the airplane.cfg and to have the xyz units the same as the cfg, so once moved the user can write the correct coordinates in the cfg and save it.
  2. The ability to move a "ModelPart" xyz in the hierarchy editor.
  3. The ability to add simple shapes (planes, box).
  4. A better navigation and observation system, sometimes it is not easy to place the camera where you want. Would be very cool a WASD keyboard system, FPS-like.
Last question, i would like to add a gauge in the default Learjet (for personal testing purpose only), but in an area of the 3D model which is not pre-set to contain gauges.
It is not possible, am i right?

Thanks a lot for your time!

Hi,

Yes, you are correct. It is not possible to add gauges to areas not pre-set to contain gauges.

Hi,

Your first question should be possible already with the aircraft.cfg editor that was added recently. You can move points and save it directly to the cfg file. Or did I miss your point?

At the moment you can't move a modelpart, only the entire object. It might be added in the future. For adding new parts I'm not sure. MCX is not really made to be used to add new things.

Also for the moment I'm "over my ears" in scenProc work, so work on MCX is a bit on low priority for the moment. So don't expect things fast :)

sounds cool thanks!
i am gonna check out the aircraft.cfg editor, you got the point of what i meant.
thank again
