• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Disappearing aircraft

Okay, so I started to bundle up and test out my aircraft a bit this past week. I ran a full build and sent the zip over to a friend for him to test out. I exported the same zip to my own community folder and we decided to try flying together a bit with it.

I'm sitting in my cockpit. I can see my wings and everything is just as it was before the build. All working. Ready to go. I look over and can only see my friend's cockpit and no fuselage or wings. He said the same thing about my plane as well. Looks good on his side, but only a cockpit on my aircraft. External and internal views. Even dev cam and testing distance out a bit too, in case it was something to do with the LOD's set incorrectly.

Thoughts?

LOD Minsize needs to be set to "0" in both exterior and interior model .xml files.

Example:

<!-- LODS -->
<LODS>
<!-- Highest LOD -->
<!-- minimum display size in % (should be bounding sphere vertical screen size, sphere will often be slightly larger than you expect) -->
<!-- default minSize is 0 -->
<LOD minSize="0" ModelFile="DISCUS_LOD00.gltf"/>
</LODS>

Your issue above was because you probably didn't have the minimum "0" LOD set to your highest tri/poly parent. And if you had more LODs, then your object detail wasn't welding to the parent right. Please read the documentation to ensure you don't blow up your MSFS frame rate:

You are correct. Sorry, I just read this but I figured it out by mistake one day. I had exterior at 100 and interior at 0!
