• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Greetings all!
I've been a long time developer/beta tester for all sorts of Flight Simulator related projects. From the old SubLogic days to today's Oculus VR enabled products and hardware adjuncts. I have recently joined a team to tweak the Helicopter flight dynamics model in a new simulator. As a very high time rotorcraft and fixed wing pilot who owns aircraft, I am in a unique position to get it right.

I'd used the resources of the forums at "hovercontrol.com" for a long while and was dismayed to see that it had been taken down. If anyone can put me into contact with the sysops of that site (Jordan Moore, Simon Robbins, Chris Gaeth, etc.) Really anyone that can assist me in getting the content and forums back online. I have multiple data center quality servers and connections that I would gladly donate. I have been up continuoisly since the late 80's so it's pretty stable! ;)

Some of the same folks worked on (still working?) the DODOSIM 206 prject. I really enjoy it's models and flight dynamics fixes for FSX and would like to discuss porting it or rolling it into the new sim.

Can anyone assist??

Thank you!

Rick Miller

Hey Rick,

Have you tried posting this on the main chat room here? Arno might know who to get in contact with.

That was a great website. Sorry to hear its gone. :(

Chris Gaeth is on Facebook as well as a few others. Not sure about Jordan, Simon or Mark though

Please let me chime in here. I am looking for a painter who was also associated with Hovercontrol to the best of my knowledge. Brandon D. Henry. His mail address is no longer valid. He has painted Antti Pakkonens HH-65C Dolphin.

Has anybody any recent contact information?

To revive Hovercontrol is an idea I strongly support!

Moved to general chat now. I don't know the people mentioned personally, so can't help with that.

Hey Matt,
Thanks for dropping HC off at the vet mate, and holding it's hand as it went to sleep. I remember when Rwy12 was being ravaged by spammers and porno crap and I am glad the lights went out at HC before that happened.
It is what it is mate...good times....cheers!
All the best to Jordan, Chris, and all of the HC admins that kept it one of the most well organized and civilized forums around, and thanks to all of the freeware contributors like yourself, Peter and Tomas Nemeth, Zoltan Botky, Lt Finney, Capt. Kirk Sunley , George Arana, Rory Kelly, Alan and Keith Devins, and so many others for the amazing helicopter related freeware. And yes, thanks to the guys at Dodosim!
All of the best to all of Y'all! Well Done!

Cheers
Gman

It's quite sad that all the archival material couldn't be placed somewhere accessible. No posting nor adding files, but just as a reference. So much good information was on there. Terrible waste to have it completely vanish.

I would be happy to donate server and bandwidth to get it up and running as an archive.

Rick

Sorry for digging up an old post, but I really wish HC hadn't shut down. Work was being done on an advanced version of the Bell 206 by I believe the Dodosim crew and it was supposed to've been a photorealistic VC, Milviz-quality model.

I haven't seen an update on that project since HC shut down and HC was the only site the developer was posting on, about it. I wonder if that project is still in the works or not. :/
