• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello to all,

I am new to this great world of FS development and have now entered into a great learning curve. I have watched this forum with great awe at what you guys bring to the FS world. I've been trying various experiments / programs to see which level to start and now have got into things in a more semi-dedicated and semi-serious manner, though still very amateur.

This project which I am introducing today is my first serious aircraft development (actually its my first ever development) of what in my mind is one of the great twin props in military service, The Hawkeye, its history is famous along with it having a long and continuing service record including current deliveries.

These are very early WIP's of the exterior base models, though I now feel confident enough for others to see the current progress. For sure there will be many tweaks over the coming months or even longer to improve shaping, detailing etc. There is not and will not be for some foreseeable future any mention of release dates. I haven't even thought about VC's and the world of panels, that I will leave until I am satisfied with the exterior base models.

So here we have one of each model posed in an in sim screenshot / static form.

At this time I am satisfied with most of the modelling of the rear end, principally the horizontal and vertical stabilizers, rudders etc. I am also satisfied with the rotor-dome, its mountings, the engine cowlings and props, antennas, including HF wire antenna, front end including nose shapes, cockpit windows etc. though some future tweaking on all these will ensue.

All other stuff is WIP basic level and will be next for improvement.

I will be posting progress with better detail shots as and when confident to release them.

So there you have it, I am open to all comments and suggestions, and for sure will be seeking help in these forums. All the Best for now.

When you do get to the systems/fde, looking at other addons and seeing how they do things can help. You might want to check Fraser's L-188 out since it's based on an aircraft with the same engine type and gets the performance pretty well on the numbers. The T56 is a strange engine with only two possible RPM settings and many other quirks, and the FM L-188 is more or less the only one that's figured it out. There is also an official E2 flight manual freely available on the Avialogs website (super helpful for telling you what switch does what). The wip shots look great so far. Good luck with the project!

The project is still active that's for sure, I am still tweaking my modelling skills and I am adjusting the models which you see above which now also includes the E-2C Hawkeye 2000. Progress is therefore slow at the moment also due to some personal Issues that needed attention !!!

Of course, take care of you first ;) I only asked because I love NavalOps :)

I must ask.... Do you plan to do low poly multi lod AI versions, too?

From mobile hence short

"qsnde" Hadn't thought about an AI version but it could be a possibility after the full version is released. Release dates don't even ask, I am not working to any schedule at present and this year for me will be very busy starting in May so things could slow down.

Many thanks for considering it when time comes. They would be very much appreciated!

I third the motion on the C-2! My cousin flies with the VRC-30 squadron out of NAS North Island on C-2s lol. But either way, I honestly cant wait until i see the E-2 models come out! Should be fantastic!
