• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello,
My assistance settings are set to "difficult". As soon as I open my editor they all automatically change to easy. Is there any way to prevent this?
Thank you.

Note. I wrote "assistance" because I have the french version of FS2020 and I dont know how it tell that in english.

Not that I know of. It's been like that since the last update. Asobo are aware of it but they haven't patched it yet.

Assistance is the same in English as French.

What’s this? Adobo released a patch that neglected to preserve difficulty settings for developers and has neglected to reverse that oversight?

One gets the impression Asobo is sending a communication to developers, as a demographic. If not, “we hate you,” then almost certainly, “do you think things are all rosy up here?”

I am imagining a patch that reconfigures setting preferences when a particular button is pressed on an Xbox controller and how long that condition would remain, but I have a fertile imagination.

That's the half of it. If you open the Aircraft Editor and select Resync then MSFS will no longer recognise any input controls. You have to close or minimize the Aircraft Editor to get control back.

I just don't get it, these things don't happen by accident. Someone has to actually code this behaviour and then sit there and think, "yes, that is what a developer wants, to be unable to control their aircraft while the Aircraft Editor is open".

I really think it is more a case of a module that records and saves these settings, not being added to the update package, so without it, settings go to default. A reflection of inconsistent quality control, imo.

I really like the idea of being able to create scenery in the sim with the exception of having assistance options set back to default every time and that annoying popup every few minutes to let me know that my engine(s) are are not running. So I decided that I would start my engine before starting devmode, but now I get a popup telling me that my engine is running and to use the keyboard to shut it down. I don't know if this is required or whether it's a bug, but can't think of any reason all those settings need to be set back to default. I surely hope this is just a bug.

Make sure you do not have developer mode enabled, change your settings and exit the game. After that it did not change to easy again for me.
