• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I've tried Google earth, bring texture, but to no joy.
the reason for this is all my building and add-on in my scenery have photo reality texture.
any help would be grateful.

Hi Keith,

Have a look in SBuilderX or ModelConverterX groundpoly wizard. That might help.

Im not sure about SbuilderX for fs9. I had a trouble to make Photoreal for FS9. Instead use MCX groundpoly wizard. Works great but there comes another trouble with Runway lights. Lights are another story..

Hi,

Try using FSEarthTiles then.
You have a choice there to compile for FS2004 or for FSX. The program also includes the resample.exe for fs2004.
However, I do not know how it works, only that Hi Res does not work in FS2004 this way.
If you need that then use Sbuilder (not SbuilderX) or use the groundpoly wizard for flat surfaces.

FSEarthTiles seems not working i mean none of 4 earth services, so I cannot get maps on.
Sbuilder wont make you tiles SbuilderX will do the job.
SbuilderX will generate High Res bitmaps as well as data file. BMPs are nothing for FS9 at this stage and geometry is needed.
Easiest way is to Use Blender "Import Images as planes" then scale up to correct size in edit mode. To scale up to size you need to use Knife tool and cut along Runway to get an Edge then turn on edge info > Length so you see numbers in meters. Now scale to size needed. Then Rotate your heading, assign LAT LON.
LAT LON is XYZ 0 at any point or vertex you wish, but keep in mind that you know LAT LON of that point to enter it in MCX. Save as X for FSX.
(Of course this can be done with MAX/GMAX)
Open MCX > import your X file, then save as MDL for FS9. Then reopen it in GP wizard, set your LAT LON, do your seasons and stuff then convert. Congrats you've done..
This is my way of doing it..

Complicated ? :D
