• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Enduser question

Hi Arno,
as an enduser I have several questions:
- I learned, that there is no need for an enduser to install ACM manually. Now I have seen that the version on my machine is quite outdated (1.0.6523.39989). So does it make sense to update it with your latest version 1.2.xxx, and if so how to do?
- ACM creates a lot of backupfiles, in my case meanwhile 2GB. Is it safe to delete most of them manually, except e.g. the last 3 backups?

Running P3Dv4.5

Thanks,
Otto

Hi Otto,

You can update to the latest versions. It's just a matter of downloading the latest version and running it in install mode. That will replace your current version. The developers user manual explains how to do this.

ACM should only keep a certain number of backup files. From my mind it's maximum 50 of them, so I'm surprised they are so big. How many backups do you have? It's safe to remove backups manually.

Currently I have 40 backups, each 50MB.
Install mode is running it like this from CMD Window: "AutogenConfigurationMerger.exe install"?

Yes, that's how you install it.

True, at 50 mb per backup it adds up quickly. Let me check the number of backups in the code.
