• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Error Message Pop-Up!

During any given session in Sketchup I get this message. It appears at regular intervals regardless of the amount of time I might be in a session. If I'm buildng an object and spend 2 hours in sketchup, that message will pop up every 5 minutes. There doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the model, it exports to 3D perfectly and compiles to both an mdl or bgl for use in the sim without any irregularities.

Anyone know what the message is referring to?

Hello,...

Not sure what its saying,... can you type it out what its saying? Which version is this SketchUp?

Looks to be an error with the backup file.

Can you try turning off the auto backup feature, or at least change the backup interval?

cheers,
Lane

Possibly it's an error writing the Autosave of the current project into the *.SKB (aka "backup") version of the *.SKP file.

Have you set the Properties for the shortcut used to start Sketchup so that its runs with Administrative privileges ?

Right-click Sketchup shortcut > [Compatibility Tab] > [check] "Run this program as an Administrator"

Hope this helps ! :)

The auto backup is under Window/Preferences/General. The default time is 5 minutes. I'm using Google Sketchup 8.

Try right clicking Sketchup icon and choosing Run As Adminstrator?
