• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I have built a model log cabin in sketchup and exported a .dae file. Imported the .dae into ModelconverterX then exported the MDL and DXTBMP files to a texture folder on my desk top after renaming.I'm looking to see what the next major steps would be to add this to fs.My goal is to drop this in alaska, build a runway somewhere for a test first.Do i need another download next?Or what is the next best video?THX

No you don't need another download. MCX can place the model for you by using the Object Placement button and the Export Scenery button just above it.
Then its just a matter of placing the textures in the texture folder of your active scenery directory.

Might be better to stick to one thread on this topic. Your questions are all in the same line on the same topic, just different wording and at differing stages. When you spread yourself out like this, it makes it harder to get all the information in the order you may need it.

Granted there are some differences as this post is seeking the next step, which would have rolled together nicely with the other post.

Anyhow, to answer a portion of your question. ADE is a great tool for making and modifying airports. It is where you may want to look for the runway you spoke of.

If you want to use this object in many different places, you might want to create a library BGL file instead, and then just place it using a program like Instant Scenery or ADE. This is more efficient than placing it as an MDL file each time.

Look at Library Creator XML, here at FSDeveloper, to do that.

Hope this helps,
