• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

FSX Finland sceneries

I am happy you answered. I deleted before my post because I found in the meantime EFHE_ADEX_TAK.bgl. There is a helipad but no lighthouse? Little far away there is a building with a cross on its top, so I thought this is a church. In the dawn I see a light. Is this the lighthouse? I am not sure.
Now I will search again;)

Yes, there is an island close to Helsinki, or it is actually an old fortress or castle called Suomenlinna. There is a church which has a navigation light on top. So it is a lighthouse at the same time, in the list it is called Suomenlinna. (Helsinki lighthouse is 10NM to the south from Helsinki). The light sequence of Suomenlinna is 4 short flashes .... like the letter H in morse code, and H for Helsinki. :) (I love this stuff, can't explain why :) )

Glad that you like the scenery. Now you can also visit Lapland which looks better than ever. :)

And I have now some time to fly the leg I do many times.... LOWI - LOWW. I have visited Austria once, I am a musician and played a short tour in Austria. But it is a long time ago... 1991 I think.
 
Thank you for the completion Tatu, in the meantime I found Isokarin saari. I am wondering there is the lighthouse in the water of FSX. In your picture there is right a little bush and some sandy landclass? I have to say I have no FTX_Global and until yet no Lapland Postcard because I have no SODE.
I think with your help it would be no difficculties to find your excellent lighthouses. :):santahat:
LOWI is a nice airport in the mountains. There are problems with them and the föhn; landing and starting an aeroplane needs experience and skill.

Oh I see George also found his nesting place;)

Strange. That looks like Kotka lighthouse, it does not use Majakat_LM texture. (= The model is not calling that texture )

If you disassemble the FS2002 bgl file with BGLAnalyze v3.1 then you can import the resulting sca file into Model ConverterX and adjust as required.
 
I updated the Lighthouse scenery object library. Just download again the zip I linked earlier it contains one more bgl file for the scenery. The lighthouse named "Tiiskeri" should not call Majakat_LM texture anymore.

Tatu, while FinlandX includes a landclass, you don't mention nay landclass for this new packset.
Is it because you forgot to do so, or because no LC is included, or because it is not necessary?
I am looking forward to DLing the set when I am home!

Yes I mentioned LandClass in Lapland scenery. It includes LandClass raster (the default grid of 1.2km accuracy) and landclass vectors which accuracy is few meters I think.
Should be all in all more accurate landclass that was included in FinlandX.

So a HD landclass is provided for Lapland, but not for the rest of Finland. Am I correct?

If that's the case, I'll keep FinlandX for its landclass for most of Finland, delete the files mentioned in your ealier post, then add the new sceneries for the HD mesh, obstacles, seamarks and HD Lapland.
So that I can enjoy the HD landclass from FinlandX, and all the rest from the base pack!

OH-BOY, I can't wait to fly under Finnish skies!

Yes that's correct.

I hope to get further south with time... the amount of data is huge, it takes time to optimize it. And as we proceed to south everything gets kind of "thicker"... more roads, more populated areas, more everything. It can easily bring sim to poor FPS or VAS usage.

Finland base pack actually includes HD area of Aland and archipelago close by (west of Turku towards Marienhamn). It was a kind of demo version, but looks good even as it is. Nice for low flying and you'll see also how the seamarks make sense how they are placed. :)
