• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Exciting News from Microsoft, FSX
Posted: Friday, March 2, 2007 - 20:03

Microsoft has some exiting news to share as of this afternoon! The ACES team has been busy working away on the next two updates for Flight Simulator X; Service Pack 1 and the DirectX 10 update, but they also wanted to give you a first look at something even bigger that's coming soon. This fall, Microsoft will be releasing their first expansion pack in years: Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline!

Microsoft ACES Team writes, "This latest addition to the award-winning Flight Simulator franchise will introduce new features, including multi player air racing, new missions, and all-new aircraft, including the legendary P-51 Mustang. Building on the rich visuals and amazing realism of our platform, Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline will be available this holiday season for Flight Simulator X customers running either Windows XP or Windows Vista. In addition, Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline will take advantage of Windows Vista and DirectX 10 to deliver breathtaking graphics and dynamic environments for an even more immersive experience."

Service Pack 1 for Flight Simulator X is tentatively scheduled for an April release and will include a targeted set of performance and content enhancements to address the most common customer requests. In addition, work continues on the DirectX 10 visual update for Flight Simulator X, which will be available as a free download around the launch of Flight Simulator X: Adrenaline. Keep an eye right here on Avsim.com for further details!

Nice to hear...

...I hope there are different classes of AIr Racers so there

can be F4Us and P-51s on one course

and Hughes H-1As and other 30s racers on the other.

Greetings

What I really want to see, is a rocket engine type... damn not being able to propel outside of the air!

I think the best part of it is, that there will be a service pack and it won't take till fall this year ...

What about us developers...

What I would like to know more about is the extensions to the simengine. What new features will be present for us developers that weren't there before?:scratchch

A few more aircraft and missions is nice, but what I'm interested in are the changes to the FSX codebase itself. Maybe someone from ACES could post some more technical info for the gearheads among us? (wink wink.. nudge nudge...):D

Cheers,
Sean

I think the service pack itself will give more than enough adrenaline...to see the results when testing FSX....:o
