• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.

Float plane docks in MSFS?

Hi All,

I am in the process of creating a freeware scenery for a remote landmark, and I want to add a fictional "airport" so that one can fly to/depart from it. There is a river nearby, so float planes make the most sense. I have created a runway, but I would like to be able to start with the engines switched off. I tried to put a ramp or dock into the water. It works, but with amphibious airplanes, the gear is down and the tie-downs are activated. Even worse, If I park at a nearby helipad, MSFS spawn no-float planes into the water as AI.

Is there a way to create a dock for float planes? Or a way to haul float planes on land?

Unrelatedly, the helipad does not show up on the selection screen as a gate or runway when I try to start a flight. Is that normal?

Thanks for any help,
Peter

AFAIK - you still can't ramp amphibs, either way - going into the water will crash, and you can't lower the gear in the water right now.

If you create a water runway, you will start in the correct configuration at either end.
Also, and probably what you want, TaxiwayParking: Dock GA works
