FSDS3.5 and boolean dificulty

I am getting the message "part is not orientable" when I try to execute a boolean op to cut features.

using extrusions from templates I can cut the aileron, I can cut the trim tab into the aileron but when i try to use a template to make a rounded corner on the outboard tip of the leading edge I get this message.

I have tried to use a tool to cut the rounded corner with success but then when I go to cut the aileron I get the same message.

Any ideas?

I've had problems with the boolean operation in v3.5 as well. Unfortunately the error message I received was totally unhelpful, so I reverted to v3 to get a better idea of the problem and the cutout worked no problem, using the parts and tools prepared in v3.5! Re-opened the job in v3.5 and everything was fine with all the newly manufactured parts showing up and compiling as normal ?!?

What with a few other anomalies, I've now reverted to v3 to prepare the fsc in it's entirety, just using v3.5 for final compilation.
