• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSSC and AFCAD

Hi.

I know that there are not a lot of scenery designers that use FSSC still, so there may not be a answer to my question.

Well here it is. I'm working on an airport and I wanted to change the ground textures. I did this with a polygon using FSSC, but the polygon covers over the AFCAD. I understand that FS reads the AFCAD last in the scenery layers, so how can I get the new ground textures under the AFCAD ?

Is there a scenery program that will let me change the ground textures at the airport ??

Thank you.

I think this has to do with layers. You might want to look at SBuilder rather than FSSC for this. There are some tutorials on my site (www.scruffyduckscenery.co.uk) for using SBuilder to change airport backgrounds and also to use AFCAD. In this case the idea is to regress airports to the 1930s but it might still help

Hi scruffyduck.

OK I've downloaded and installed SBuilder, also downloaded and read through Airfield Regression Tutorial. Every thing went fine, until I tried to run the BGL Compilation. It just set there for a min or two and then I got a FSIPCU error message.

Now it does nothing. Does SBuilder run on Vista ???

Can you just confirm that error message - is is FSUIPC? or FSIPCU as you describe it?

Have you installed the latest version of SCASM.exe?

www.scasm.de and it needs to be in the tools folder inside SBuilder. Date of mine is Jan 5, 2005

Good Day scruffyduck.

Ok got it working. I've gone through the Airfield Regression Tutorial. It all went well. A question if I may. Can I use a custom texture in the VTP2 polygon ??

Good to know it is working. Not sure is the answer - long time since I actually used SBuilder. I think you can use something called a Textured Poly and use your own texture. I did this in one of the tutorials to place the name of the airport on the ground if I recall correctly.
