• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSX/Acceleration packs

Hi all,
I wonder if someone has a definitive answer to this?

I purchased from a well known PC store in the UK a pack of FSX deluxe & Accelleration, except that they were seperate, not shrink-wrapped together as a pack.
I have been attempting for about a week to get the tools to work following all the setup instructions but no amount of juggling with installing in different sequences can I get them to work except if I don't install the Acceleration pack.

I D/L the Addon "Mission Editor" which has a facility to check the setup of the OPT setting. I ran this & each SDK that I have tried (including the ones on the FSInsider site) has a different version number.

My FSX SDK is Vers. 10.0.61637.0
The Accelleration SDK (SP1A) is 10.0.60905.0
The FSInsider SP1A SDK is 10.0.61355.0
The FSInsider SP2 Update SDK is 10.0.61472.0

What I am asking is, should the packs when sold be as a matched pair & not seperate items?

Thanks for any replies
Alan

I'd say the double pack was not from microsoft but a dealer's offer. As you can buy Acceleration independent from FSX you may always have different version numbers. But one may correct me here.

If you have difficulties starting/using the OPT/SDK see this useful thread.

Hi Folks

Alan -
The FSInsider SDK SP2
is for users who DONT have Acceleration.

You MUST install the Acceleration SDK
from the Acceleration disk, (as per my previous post).

Please see link in Thorsten's post.

SDK's

Hi Paul, yes I knew that the SP2 shouldn't be used if you had the Acceleration disk but I had tried everything else & it was a last desperate try.
I have read all the available help files that I can find but the only way I get the tools is if I DON'T install the Acceleration disk.the SDK on that is SP1A & it will not give me the tools.
