• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Sorry again, i do not know where to clear this point, you may help me.

I have FSX gold version, and i installed it in two different machines.

Now, i try to install my FSX gold in a new PC but it seems, that my licence is limited in two PCs only.

Whom can i address to renewing my licence?

A direct link will be highly appriciated.

Thank you..

Or alternatively consider getting FSX:SE from Steam.

With Amazon asking $185 for a shrink wrapped FSX Gold boxed virgin copy, I think Microsoft is no longer producing any more for sale, possibly because of an agreement not to compete with the Steam edition.

Steam requires a digital handshake from them before you can fly the FSX Steam version. Why? I suspect at some point they hope to start charging for a flight session. yecccchhhh!

Microsoft stopped FSX (and supporting it?) as soon as FSE-SE was released. DTG is in the business of making money .

Thanks All,

I downloaded a cracked Acceleration version.

Now, to install the acceleration version, should i uninstall sp2?

Many thanks

We do not condone the use of pirated software. As developers many of us have been subjected to this nasty and antisocial behavior. If that is what you have done then are not welcome here.

The latest update to the FSX:SE installation now allows for one to run it "off-line". A connection is needed only whenever you want to allow FSX to check for any new updates.

For that matter, FSX boxed needed a digital handshake with MS before you could use it beyond a few minutes. Nothing new there, it's called product activation; the OP's original problem.

From FSInsider 5 minutes ago...

"At present FSX: Steam Edition will require a digital “handshake” with Steam at the start of a session. After that point you may go offline and continue your session without interruption. We recognise that many simulation fans prefer to be disconnected while they play and as such we are working towards making FSX: Steam Edition playable while operating Steam in offline mode."

I don't know how you can "operate steam in offline mode" without a handshake first.

I guess I am just getting more cynical................but this quote seems to me to be a very carefully worded dodge. Maybe they are behind and will update this FAQ item....time will tell.

BTW...not trying to start a conflict here.....just explaining my post.

...but did you notice the last ULR post from Asus on Mar 29 @5:31 pm????? I believe that would be about ............hmmmm ........6 weeks ago?

Time to close this and move on......only time will tell....but the experiences of these URL posters warrants caution...

I thought that you contacted Microsoft and they could click something on their end and your license was back in order. Was that changed?

Why can't code resident in your machine that ran OK in Week X possibly not run in Week X + 1 without genuflecting on the Net in the direction of Dovetail games? That's my issue. That's not running off line.

If they can prevent you from using your resident code on your hard drive, (:yikes:oh, shucks, you need an update!!!)they can later charge you later to get it going again. They are going to have a sale on Newegg on June 15 for $15!!!. Why wouldn't they sell it for approximately the old $40 Microsoft charged?

mgh, I looked at the URL you posted. Thank you.

I read all 6 steps which require you to logon to steam, to see if the program is "ready",etc, etc, blah, blah, blah. I understand that this "may" be required only once in 10 or 20 times but the technical guys at steam should be able to simply say in plain English

"power up your system and click on the FSX SE icon.

If we have just updated it, it won't run. Sorry.

Go through these 6 steps and then you can LOG OFF STEAM. Go have a beer and come back.

Click on the FSX SE icon and it will run. It will run until our next FREE update.

They never quite get there.

If you click on the Microsoft FSX icon , it starts. That's it. That's running offline.:teacher:

P.S. And yes, I have had my rabies shot.
