Is there a way to show airport locations within the viewer? I want to mimic the default vegetation around an airport I'm doing and having at least a position area showing so I can zero in on the specific veggies would be helpful.
Hi Ed:
IIUC, you intend to annotate a custom photo-real aerial imagery BGL for an airport area.
If you have created replacement CVX vector BGLs for the airport in question, they can be opened in SDK TMFViewer along with your custom photo-real aerial imagery BGL.
If you disclose an ICAO for the airport in question, we can at least help you find a
default CVX vector airport (background / boundary type) 'flatten' BGL to open in SDK TMFViewer that could be viewed along with your custom photo-real aerial imagery BGL.
This would allow you to see if the default CVX vector airport (background / boundary type) 'flatten' BGL used a '
MaskClassMap' GUID type.
For more info on this topic, including Luis Feliz-Tirado's spreadsheet crosswalk table on Land Class actually used by 'MaskClassMap', see:

For info on Jim Vile's method of re-working airports using land class polygons, rather than with custom photo-real aerial imagery, see:

AFAIK, SDK TMFViewer cannot open / display a SDK BGLComp XML-type single or multiple airport BGL.
IS3 'labels' feature identifies 'Autogen' objects placed via SDK BGLComp XML-type BGL, but not objects placed via SDK Autogen Annotator.
FS' alpha-numeric file name series used for default land class (aka "LC") is distinct from that used for custom photo-real aerial imagery, but there "may" be a way to ID
*an.AGN Autogen Vegetation annotations used in default LC assigned to the area of the airport in question.
However, I do not know if Arno's ScenProc or another utility such as Autogen Configuration Merger tool can extract / copy / re-use 'default' LC Autogen annotations with custom photo-real imagery.
And of course, we might also need to consider what info may used from
Default.XML file in the [FSX install path]\Autogen sub-folder.
