hello

I have a transparency problem again.
Don't know what is wrong, for a short time, I did find a solution, but can't remember how I did it.

The problem is, that in 3ds max is looks all good, but in fsx my model isn't transparent.

Attached test file as 3ds max 2011 and 2010 file with texture psd and dds.

It would be nice if anybody could have a look into this file.

thanks comy

As far as I can see, your alpha (in the dds) is all white. It will need to be greyscale and about 50% grey-level

The Opacity map / Opacity value in Max / Gmax has no effect on the exported model. (You have the glas.psd in this slot)

You can use Opacity with a bmp (of your alpha channel moved to RGB) .. but it won't change the opacity of the model.

ehh yeah okay, I changed my Alpha channel to a grey scale about 50%, but now my testmodel is invisible.

Don't know the reason, I did it exactly how you described and I checked my Alpha channel again with imagetool.

Thanks

comy

You now need to find an alpha Z-test level, that produces the result you want.

Sorry for this late answer, but had to do some other things than 3d design in the last time.

Only want to say it works great. Thanks for your help again.

regards comy
