• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

FSXA FSX waves do not show up

Hello guys.
I wonder if some of you would be able to give me any tips regarding the issue. I am trying to create shorelines in SbuilderX to have wave effect over my photoscenery, however, although it worked perfectly many times, it does strange things now. I have actually created 10 different coastlines and only one showed me the wave effect (ocean with surface) but the problem is that waves show randomly. Their visibility does not depend on viewing angle or anyting like that. Actually I was not able to troubleshoot it or at least define an element triggering the problem.

Looks just perfect. Unfortunately 1 second later:

...there are no waves any more. They did not appear in the next 5 minutes of flying over that coastline. I would appreciate any suggestions very much!

i am working a lot on it also.
Drzewiecki try this, backup your files first :)

in fsx.cfg MESH_RESOLUTION=22
(which is 10 meters, quite good enough for every mesh addon)

in terrain.cfg move all the autogen entries to the bottom, after every texture entry.
if you have some vector addon installed you will have first default texture entries, then addon texture entries, and after them put all the autogen entries.
sometimes addons put their entries before the autogen entries and i think it is not good.

flush shaders and sceneryindexes folders
simulator will rebuild them automatically accordingly to the modifications of fsx.cfg and terrain.cfg
(this must be done everytime you do modifications)

start simulator near the sea

let me know if it worked for you
