• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

    By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Fuel Parking Objects

I just noticed by accident that adding a fuel parking space no longer adds the fuel station objects. I opened a previously built airport to align the fuel station objects by adjusting the parking space as done in the past. When I rebuilt the airport, the objects were gone, and now I see that no objects are added when I add a fuel parking space. This is a good thing, so I am not concerned, but I'm curious as to how this change came to be.
 
Maybe there is a visual object associated with fuel spots. Generally they are library objects.

There was, but now I find that there isn't. However it came to be, I am glad. I didn't know whether it was due to a change to ADE or to the SDK. My earlier-built project still had the object, but the later re-build eliminated it.
 
I am not able to find any reference to a visual model for parking spots (FUEL is just one type)
 
They added a new checkbox to the fuel_parking spot type where you can select if it "has 3d model", or not

Thanks. That made me look further, and I see the latest ADE version includes a "Has3DMesh" attribute for the parking space that indeed controls the appearance of the objects. Since this attribute is listed for all parking spaces, I assumed it had nothing to do with the 3D objects at fuel spaces. I don't see it having any affect on other parking spaces.

Probably just ignored for regular parking spots
