• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Been meaning to ask this.......... After doing a nice photoreal, and I adjust my rwy, there always seems to be a fuzzy edge on either or both sides of the rwy, REGARDLESS of the level of satellite precision. does concrete show this way often? Yes, I can widen the rwy to cover this, but why is this so?

Probably the best way to correct this is extend the texture out some to eliminate the fuzziness.

I usually take care of this with Metrix plug in while modifying my bmp in my photoreal then recompiling, or by clone brush. But I was asking what causes this fuzz?

The 1 thing I can think of is that the image has an alpha or a very slight transparency problem around the edges.

I hate guessing without seeing the tmages, that is just me

I understand. If I move the rwy or taxiway away from its position I see the photoreal for it underneath and the fuzz is there. My friend thinks this is part of the rwy. I have thought in the past that concrete in photoreals don't show very well around the edges. But then it could be the nature of the beast of photoreals. I use SBX with GE ddl I have used VE in the past but with the same results. I know there are other methods used to make photoreals but I have seen the same results with those. Anyway, easily corrected. anyway, thanx for the help. will keep in touch and see what else I can find. Will try to report back if anything is found. Bob

Maybe it's due to elevation differences, I mean the satellite or the plane taking the photos are not really on top of every point, they are usually scanning a large area from a very high altitude, keep in mind that the RWY is very long and elevation of different points can make it look wavy from above, especially with the angle between the scanner and the RWY slope that is this not constant for the entire length of the RWY

I had some weird looking RWYs in FSX due to different slopes of different part of the RWY, the solution was just to add a couple of meters to the width
