• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Gate Issue?

Hi All: Using the latest P3D v5.3. I am trying to modify an airport's gates. I have gone into the newest ADE Lists, gone to Parking and edited the list. I changed the Type from Ramp_GA_Medium to Gate_medium and Name from Parking to Gate. I also changed the Number. When I pull the airport up in the P3D UI, none of the Gates are shown in the list of parking spots, just the original parking spots. My compiled ADE generated bgl is in the scenery folder of the airport and the airport is activated. Being a relative newbie, I must be doing something wrong. Any idea what is wrong? Please let me know if there is more info needed!

Many thanks!

Have you made any other changes to the airport layout?
If you have, are these changes appearing?
This checks whether you are 'seeing' the revised layout.

Are you sure you did not leave the original airport BGL file in there?

Hi Tom: Thanks for the tip. That was the problem. I am learning something about ADE each time I use it (being a newbie)! One quick question, whenever I make a change with ADE do I need to delete the original bgl file?

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Assuming you compile the airport with the same name as the first compile, ADE will overwrite automatically if you compile to the scenery folder. If you compile and move it in manually, your OS will overwrite it if you allow it to.
