get a 4 engine prop into multiplayer

Hi,

I cant get my 4 engine prop plane into a server because the server doesnt have anything to substitute it for. Therefore is there a way to say make the engines look like a 747 to the server but not act as them so it can get into game?

I know this does'nt help the issue here but I have the same issue with using the L188 and P3 orion when trying to join multiplayer sessions.

You could try and modify the model.cfg to the name of the 747's setup maybe? so that the server thinks that its a 747-400 model joining the server instead of some anonymous model that it doesnt have. Thats one alternative.... you can do this by going to the aircraft folder you want to fly with....in this case your 4 prop plane and then go to the model folder and opening model.cfg with notepad and renaming everything exactly like the 747's model.cfg and save it. You will also have to rename the model names too as the 747's names etc. That should get you into a session with your plane... I have'nt tried it yet...but it don't see why it should'nt work? Come to think of it!... I am going to try it out myself and see if it works. Try it out... Good luck :)

That did'nt seem to work for me but what you can try also is making a copy of the 747 aircraft folder and replacing your four prop planes files with the 747's and naming all the files to the names of the 747. Try that and if that does'nt work then you can probably google something better up. Another solution is by having the server host install the same planes that you have. If you do find a better solution to a fix for this.....please let me know so I can fix mine as well :)

I tried google and couldn't find anything... Also having the server host the files just makes everyone else who hasnt got the plane see an invisible plane which isnt very handy... any other ideas?
