• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Have you ever thought, that the prices of good addons for FSX are way to high? Then come an join this mod project. The aim of this project is to release a free installation client, that installs new and improved stuff for FSX. Of course nobody will get payed for his work, but i hope that some of you want to help creating this client.

Which people could help:
-3d modelers
-texture creators
-ui designer
-flight behaviour specialists
-engine programmers
-people who would like to look for high quality freeware

If you like to help just write it under this thread

You have absolutely no idea about the effort that is required for making even a simpe sail plane or back yard airfield for FSX do you?

As far as I'm concerned the best MODs software ever, that has been around for years is JSGME. I've yet to find anything that tops it and I have spent money on some that I have thrown into the circular file.

I hope my aspiring youngster gets a warmer reception than the one offered here. Hint: if it seems ludicrous, you probably are imagining the poster to be just as wise as yourself.

Since this is the OP's first post since joining two days ago, he/she would help his/her case by stating what he/she brings to the party. Do you model? Paint? Code? Have you useful experience with flight modelling?

Give the readers something to go on, because we're not all novice wannabes here who will jump on board the next grand scheme however ambitious it may be.

XCXSkiller, let me give you a little insight as a fulltime payware developer. The project used for an example costs $59.99: http://milviz.com/flight/products/F4E/

I spent 4 years on this project just as programmer. If I earned $1000 a month (I won't say what my salary is here), my part alone would cost $48000, and that is working 8-10 hour days, 5-6 days a week. Nevermind the cost of high quality 3D models (can easily go over $20000), sound packages, effects, and flight model (don't have figures for these), and it can easily cost a development group over $100 000 to develop just a single aircraft. To break even (no profit), would require 1667 copies to be sold (which rarely happens except for some of the most famous airliner addons). So do keep in mind that unless a place can be found where food, electricity, internet, water, medical help, and all other necessities for life are free, few people are going to do for nothing something that costs so much to do.
