Hi, need some Help.

Installed Gmax > C:\Gmax

Starts with desktop shortcut fine.

Installed FSX Gameback > C:\Gmax\Gamepack

When I use "FSX_Gmax" shortcut (C:\Gmax\Gamepack\FSX_GmaxGamePack)

I get error "No plug-in directory was found:3DSMAX"

Where do I find 3DSMAX AND Where do I put it ?????????

Thanks In Advance,

You have to install gmax just that, not place the icon in the desktop, install de gamepack in the Gmax folders and is from gamepack from where you should fire up Gmax.and drag his icon to the desktop. sorry, would like to explain better.

The correct path for the Desktop Icon to work properly is:

C:\gmax\gamepacks\FSX_GmaxGamePack

From Windows Explorer, right-click on the Desktop Icon and SendTo the "Desktop as Shortcut".

Double-click on the new Desktop Icon to launch GMax in FSX Mode.

OK,

I moved the "FSX_Gmax" shortcut to the desktop.

I still get "No plug-in directory was found:3DSMAX" error when I use it.

???????

FSX SDK is installed in > C:\Microsoft Games

Question ???

Does it matter, Gmax is installed > c:\Gmax

Thanks,

Hi,

Putting GMax in the default location should be fine.

So you installed the SDK in the default location? If you don't do that, sometimes you have to run the configsdk tool after installing. You might want to give that a try.

Another thing to look at is that the shortcut normally uses an environment variable %GMAXLOC%. You might want to check if that one is defined correctly on your machine.

Thanks for reply Arno,

FSX_Gmax target string is,

%GMAXLOC%gmax.exe -i gamepacks\FSX_GMaxGamepack\gmax.cfg -p gamepacks\FSX_GMaxGamepack\plugin.cfg

Ran configsdk, Said Yes

Still get error

???????

Thanks Again,
