If you use Gmax i am sure you have seen this error and forced to restart Gmax.
MAXscript error: "Unknown system exception

I have searched online from time to time and found that people get this error for different reasons and there is no real solution.

I get this problem from "right clicking the viewport" window with a large project.
In the past i had to log off to fix this issue.
Today i found a quick simple solution that seems to be working every time.

SOLUTION:
When you first load Gmax right click on any viewport window then open your project and the error does not appear!

P.S. I never have this issue with 3DS MAX!

Sometimes I would get the error at a later time and found this is also prevented now. I am error free with my new discovery!:stirthepo:scratchch

Awesome, -in my side...and many sides as well LOL- from time to time Gmax gets freeze.

DG thanks for the head up.
Sergio.

DG, interesting discovery. I had the same issue; drove me crazy as I used to use right click menus all the time-no more. Glad I use the Autoback feature.

I tracked it down as I recall to a script and removed it. Sorry I cannot remember which one it was but it was not an original, but an add-on poly script I believe.

Happy that you have it sorted out.

Yes sometimes the file can get corrupted and you need to use the autoback or your own previous scene. But this error for me would not corrupt the file it would just force Gmax to close.
