• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Apparently, my last thread was a complete failure because of my stupid decision to save my pass at my cousin's laptop too (and well, he likes to ruin everything I do)

AAAANYways, Let's say I created an Object in GMax (e.g terminal building).

I want to place this object in a specific location (which is the actual terminal's location) by code, files, dds, ade, whatever, all of that stuff... HOW?!?!?!?!?!

(FYI it is the terminal building in UBBB (Baku) thanks to the help of a 3D building someone made on google earth, and that helped give me a better idea of the building than pictures. ANYways, I plan on making that building now that I know how to, but I won't start until I clearly know how I will do it. I REFUSE TO START WITHOUT KNOWING HOW I'M GOING!!!)

All of the sources we listed tell you how to do that, but in short:

1. Export the model as a Scenery MDL (GMAX Export menu)
2. Use Library Creator XML to create a library BGL containing this MDL file. (This BGL file can contain many such MDL files - I combine all MDL files I use at one airport into one library BGL file.)
3. Place this BGL file into an active scenery folder, and any required textures into the adjoining texture folder.
4. Use a program like ADE or Instant Scenery to place your library object where you want at your airport.

Hope this helps,
