• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

GMAX playing up

Just now GMAX is moving anything that I try to move along only in 1 direction at a time; I have to drag the x,y,z arrows. Why has it switched to this mode and how?

Also, GMAX is moving any object about 1500m in a single click, not proportional to the amount I drag something.... somebody help please!

The directional issue is caused by pressing F5-F9. I don't know what happened about the jumping objects, it seemed to have resolved itself. Just a glitch?

The best way to move parts is to use the arrows and the upper right corner bracket. This will change the x,y,xy for you. The arrows only allow one direction and the corner gives you both making it easy to quickly move you part anywhere in the scene. Then just use the correct window before moving. i have 3 shortcuts for Move, rotate and scale so i can move a part, rotate and scale to fit with ease as i never move the mouse far and the other hand is ready to click 4,5 or 6....custom!

Also, if you tap a part of the Gizmo, that will activate which direction you will move your object(s). Then you can move them via mousing the part instead of the cursor.

You might get used to using both, moving them by object surface/mouse, or by Gizmo/mouse.

Clicking the core of the Gizmo gives you 'both' directions.

The Grand Path of Gmax. Up the mountain you go, onward, onward, holding back the tears when frustrations set in, ever onward oh soul.... :S
