• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hi fellow designers,

I burned out doing scenery about 2 years ago and now I am recharged and ready to do more. My question is:

I have version 1.50.18 of the software. What steps do I need to take to upgrade? Just download a new verson? Will my airports load? Will my key still work?

Thanks in advance for any help you may give. I am anxious to get back doing helicopter scenery for FSX.

Welcome Back :)

If you are just working with FSX the for now I recommend downloading the current production version from here: http://www.scruffyduck.org/downloads/4584110854

We do have a beta available but that is quite early in the cycle. Get used to the new features of 1.65/67 and go from there

You can install the new version in a new folder and leave your old ADE installation alone. Copy any .ADE (? - AD2, AD3, AD4) files from your old installation into the ADE165/FSX/Projects folder. They will load OK (although Jon is threatening to end support for the oldest file versions, so it's best to convert them all to AD4 files soon). Your ProKey will still work fine; just follow the transfer instructions somewhere on this site (I looked at the Questions and Answers Forum - surprisingly, not there nor in the Tips and Tutorials Forum). Even a search for ProKey did not bring it up. Some info here:
