• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Ground poly flickering and aircraft sinking into the ground

Thanks you do you need my ground poly with the my whole CYVO folder to you maybe tomorrow if you want.

If you wish, you could ZIP the current build of the project using ADE version 1.79x via ADE Menu > Project > Backup

Then you could also ZIP up your file set for the SCASM G-Poly, and link me to a download in a Direct Message here at FSDEV.

If you do not yet have a download site account, MediaFire is reputable and reliable, as well as free:
Code:

BTW: The airport I had ID's as your project location was different than CYVO, and was derived from the FS9 system scenery folder number in your ADE screenshot.

CYVO is the next scenery area to the East of the folder I cited in my post above in this thread.

Is your project name centered on CYVO, and the airport seen in your ADE screenshot is a part of a regional scenery group ? :scratchch

Hi again:

I took a quick look at CYVO in FS9 with all settings maxed out on a fairly powerful computer built for average perf. on MSFS.

I do not currently have Ultimate Terrain Canada installed / set active.

I currently have no Canada custom terrain mesh installed.

Altitude on the airport area is 1107 Feet / 337.4136 Meters; just off that area it is 1106.9 Feet / 337.3831 Meters.

If the G-Poly only loads markings, it looks OK, and I see no flickering; the airport area blends into the surrounding terrain OK.

The airport beacon illuminates at Dusk.

Interestingly, I see a few "ghost" trees in areas surrounding the airport (these look like trees in MSFS 2020 when they fade out).

Also interestingly, Google Earth shows Canadair Water Bombers parked in the NE FBO area; :D any plans to add these ?

I will examine the scenery further this evening to see what else I can discover.:)

here you go gary photoreal by my friend.

Hi again:

The custom PR imagery renders OK, with no flickering or other anomalies on my FS9 installation. ;)

Here is proof that the user aircraft does not "sink" into the RWY, SCASM G-Poly and Area-16N Flatten, or PR imagery: :wizard:

CYVO_Custom_Cessna_No_Sink.jpg

PS: I just imported the G-Poly into MCX G-Poly Wizard; it looks like there should be an image of the airport, not just markings.

I used MCX to make a complete "Combined Scene" of the mapped G-Poly image segments:

CYVO_Custom_G-Poly_To_Scene-1.jpg

So, the G-Poly currently does not show in FS9 at run time in the present CYVO build ...on my computer's FS9 configuration.

Probably it needs to be placed slightly higher AGL by adjusting settings via MCX G-Poly Wizard, prior to compilation.

If you import the current CYVO G-Poly BGL in MCX G-Poly Wizard, you will see that it is placed at 0.00 Meters AGL.

I should have another reply by tomorrow morning sometime (Monday).
