• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.

    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

    Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

FSXA Ground poly flickering Problem (again)

Hi,
I'm sorry to bother you guys again but I cannot find the solution for this after 2 hrs of searching.
I did VTBS_armi_tic project in FS2004 already and trying to convert it to FSX . I made ground poly which I ported from FS9 by tweaked 0_.asm file changing BMP to DDS and I did convert BMP texture from FS9 version to DDS. The ground poly is flickering all the time. When I remove this, the line layer above it is not flickering. I have 28 polygon each rectangular polygon is about (estimate by eye) 500 meter . Is this the problem to cause flickering? I did do the flatten by FSX planner and ADE both programs gave the same result, flickering is still there. Anything can help? I don't know which one is the best solution
1. Chop down the ground poly into pieces smaller than I did in FS9
2. Make photoscenery instead of ground poly.

I did the first plan, chopped it down. Still flickering.
I check on S-builderX and make flatten at the level of airport height 1.524 m., the same height in AFCAD file. I got the same result.

Help me please??????:(

Thanks for the answer, I read that before choping down the poly into smaller pieces.
I did do that but may be wider than 100 m.
This airport is 6x7 kilometers. Every 100m will be 60x70 polygons that is 4200 polygons for the whole airport. I think will drag down the frame rate dramatically. Anyway, I'll try that one in the most detail area and leave it a bigger poly in unnecessary area might help.
Any better solution?

For plan B is not an option since I need satellite image to be a background so my taxiway will have some irregularity of color. The default taxiway and runway will cover that up.

Plan C is making photoscenery and make ground poly just only lines and crack. Using default texture in taxiway and runway, no lighting at all since I'll use my taxi light from previous project.
