• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FS2004 Ground poly textures do not show properly

Hello,
I am experiencing a trouble with ground poly showing in FS.
Please have a look to the image linked below: the taxi lines, which have been drawn by Gmax, just look messy when the observer looks at them from a random angle.

The same happens with runway lines, and with the whole ground scenery itself if I am in flight.
Is this a problem of my own video card, which eventually can mitigated by changing some setting, or is it a problem of the scenery that every user will experience?

the lines seem as if thery are running ? and from the air flcker. if that is the case, try adding mip maps to the textures. that could reduce a Little that effect, anyway don't know exactly how to fix completly the issue to be sincere.

Yes exactly.
I will try to add these mip maps.

I checked that when I converted the textures to DXT3 using DXTBmp, the mipmaps were authomatically created. But even avoiding the creation of the mipmap the result is unchanged.

I had the very same problem and I think it was resolved in that way. anyway not sure because the memory could fail. too much stuff with these airports. good luck.
Edit: confirmed the problem is still there. but I think the effect has been rectified a Little. anyway don't know why this happen and how effectively fix this.
