• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Groundpoly layers?

Thanks to you all I have now created my own runway with markings. Both are textured individually and not with the default-textures, so I had to create them as seperate new polys in GMax. But of course, now the markings are blurring, because they are exactly at the same (ref-)point as the runway-poly. How can I prevent the blurring?

I also tried to export runway and markings from gmax in one mdl, but I couldn't avoid the blurring, even though I experimented with linking before exporting. :(

How do you overlay groundpolys without blurring?

Hi Thorsten,

If you are using the Fs2002 gamepack, I would just give them each a seperate BGL file with a different layer in the ADDCAT command.

If you are using the Fs2004 gamepack, have you tried to give them a different zbias number? That should control their priority (only works if they are inside the same MDL file).

Using the fs2004-gamepack as I still have no problem with it. The zbias-value is a good idea. Thanks. :)

Besides: What is the ADDCAT command?

It's the BGLC name for the SCASM LayerCall command. But it only works in Fs2002, it allows you to make proper ground polygons, that the scenery engine sees as ground polygons and not as 3D object polygons.

OK, thank you. I already solved the problem via zbias-value. What would I do without you, Arno? ;) :)
