• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Helipad Parking/Spawn

Hey all, didnt' found an answer or topic of my problem.

Had a Model (Heliplattform) which is also definated as collision-object.
Placed it on the top of a house, but how can i set a spawn/parking point or similar?
The "TaxiwayParking" didnt help, because i can't change the height of it.
The "object" Helipad from the MSFS SDK didn't help, it shows only that there is an helipad/port in the MSFS World Map in the game itself.

That's a journey you have to go through to make this happen. Finally there is no way that I found based on the helipad component of the airport definition. The only way is to define a runway at allmost the same altitute (some centimeters blow) minimum 6x6 meter in size which will then lift up the ground level close to the helipad. The helipad top material has to have the collision and road flag marked to you can start and land on. I hope it helps. I filed a support ticket in Zendesk for this problem and it's already in the list of issues but no idea when it will be sollved. Regards Guido

You can get away with a runway more than a few centimetres below a hardened surface sometimes. It seems to vary but I've sometimes placed it a metre or more below and spawning still worked.

You can also experiment with making the runway transparent if it's bulging in inconvenient places but I haven't had much success with that myself.

Manipulating runways will vary massively between areas. Some areas terraform very easily, others fall apart no matter what you try.
