• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello Everyone,

I am new here and just wanted to drop in and say Hello. My name is Jeff and I have been involved with flight simulation since the early 1980s. I have spent the past 20 years working sales and support for two different flight simulation companies and last June my business partner and I decided to setup a new software company to create addons for Microsoft Flight Simulator. I am very new to the development side and hope to learn a lot from this site and the people here for our future projects. I am planning on expanding my XML knowledge and start working with Java. Anyways, it is good to be here and look forward to discussing our flight simulation passion with one another.

Cheers!

Awesome! What flight simulation companies did you work for?

Hey Rick,

I worked at MicroWINGS as the Editor at Large for the magazine from 1998-2001. I then worked Sales and Support at Flight1 from 2002 to 2019.

Cheers!

Jeff

I started around the turn of the century, playing F/A-18 Hornet Korea for Mac and managed to be top gun for about three months on an international competition ladder. That was a hoot.

My first experience with this franchise was making a livery for the F1 ATR-72 around 2012, so small world! I bet you took a lot of calls about that pesky wrapper during your time there.

Since then, I've made aircraft and sceneries, had a lot of fun and been lucky enough to work with some extremely talented developers along the way.

Very cool Rick! Yeah, the F1 wrapper was fun stuff...lol. At least they moved away from that now. Nice to meet you.

Well Jeff, I'd have to observe, that since you were already providing support around the same time, we've likely talked, as attempting to unlock the ATR had engendered a pretty involved discussion, but it's nice to reacquaint on this forum.

The people here share more, whine less and the emojis are cooler, so welcome!

A bit late!

Nonetheless, welcome Jeff! Good to see another new and eager to learn face on FSDeveloper; and I agree with Rick. Here you'll find the best of the best kind people in the Flight Simulation World.

Kindest regards and Merry Christmas to everyone.
Sergio Kauffman.
