• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Hello guys,

after much blood, sweat and tears I was able to use ADE to correct missing/incorrect parking and taxiway links for a certain 3rd party airport. They are renowned for poor communication, and I managed to correct and publish it with the help from this site.

Forum Post about the project

Low and behold, a 2024 version has now been released with exactly the same issue. The fix I want to apply is VERY simple. I only want to add taxiway points and paths for four parking spots that again are isolated. Since I'm an end user, I only have the install (aka BGL file). I tried watching YouTube Videos to see if I can use MSFS itself to add these missing paths. Because I believe ADE is used up to MSFS 2020. My question is if someone can help me out or point me in the right steps to actually modify an existing BGL file inside MSFS 2024's Dev mode. The SDK Core and Sample have been downloaded, but all video's I see are on how to create your own project. Any ideas how I can go about adding these taxiway points and paths to correct the picture below?

Thank you in advance.

To add or change elements in what I think of as the path-bone, you need to remake the taxiway system, parking, and runways (and possibly Jetways). I looked at the link you provided above and found a 2020 XML for that airport given to you by ScruffyDuck. I used elements from that to make a new path-bone, and exclude, the old one. It's attached as TNCC.zip It's for 2024. Many 2020 airport XMLs will will work for 2024. You might even try loading your 2020 project into Devmode and see if it works in 2024.

You will want to alter the elements of the attached package as you see fit, and also the airport name, creator, etc... Note what's included in the airport, and what's deleted. Add or move what you need. Good luck. You may need to delete and replace Jetways as they are connected to some of the parking.

The message here is: Don't delete or replace what you don't need to delete or replace.

It's currently quite late here. But will have my hand at it tomorrow or the day after.

Cheers!
