• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MSFS20 Help for tuning a BN2-A

Hello all,

i am really new here.

For a few weekends now I have been taking my first steps in the field of msfs aircraft flight model and engine modding.

My aim for the BN-2A is to go more in the direction of the BN2T in terms of performance,
but without losing the old-school piston character of the original version.

That's why I did the following engine swap:
The stock Lycoming O-540-E against the two more powerful TIO-540-AJ1As with 300 hp.

My tuned BN2 currently reaches 160 kts in straight flight. (stock is 150kts)
Then suddenly crashes after the vibrations become more violent. (no nosedive)

So I'll probably have to tweak the flight model too.
First of all, I'm surprised about the crash at 160.
My source for the Vne of the A version says 177 kts.

My goals for my Turbocharger Islander are:
maxspeed 170kts
raised Vne to 190kts like the defender specs (where the msfs crash should occur)

I dont know where the big adjusting screws are in the flight model for the drag and the vne.

I am using the AircraftAirfileManager by the way. I dont started to use the ingame aircraft editor. Maybe i should.

Edit: I need a bit of start guide.
I am already read the SDK documentation and watched some ytube tutorials. But i need some hints.

Thanks for help.

I played around with the flight model g forces and the airplane gemoetry from time to time. I've learned a bit more.
Well, I came to the decision to leave everything as original.
Maybe I'll get the turbo islander later on.
